Versatile Lighting Modes
The Zenmuse S1 supports multiple lighting modes to adapt to various operational scenarios:
Low Beam: Offers a beam angle of about 15°, with an illumination distance of up to 150 meters — ideal for close-range inspection and search missions.
High Beam: Narrows the beam angle to around 4°, extending the illumination distance to 300 meters — perfect for long-range, focused lighting.
Both On (Combined Low & High): Merges both modes to maximize brightness and range — the central beam is even stronger than High Beam while maintaining the wide angle of Low Beam, reaching up to 500 meters.
Strobe Mode: Provides a high-frequency flashing light for signaling or drawing attention in emergency situations.
High Brightness with Energy Efficiency
The Zenmuse S1 delivers a peak center illuminance of 35 lux at 100 meters in the “Both On” mode (when mounted on Matrice 300/350). In High Beam mode, it consumes only about 17 W, minimizing the power load on the drone and extending flight time.
Stable Gimbal and Flexible Control
Equipped with a 3-axis stabilization system (tilt, roll, and pan), the Zenmuse S1 ensures steady lighting throughout flight operations. It connects via the DJI SkyPort removable gimbal interface and features both mechanical and control angle limits (tilt, pan) to maintain precise performance and operational safety.
Protection, Safety & Reliability
The Zenmuse S1 incorporates multiple protection mechanisms, including overcurrent, overheating, and power safety features, ensuring durability under harsh conditions. Its engineered polymer shell maintains a surface temperature below 50 °C, reducing the risk of burns. When the drone is on the ground (not in flight), the S1 automatically dims brightness to about 40%, preventing glare and protecting the operator’s eyesight.
Dust & Water Resistance for Outdoor Operation
With an IP54 rating (IEC 60529 standard), the Zenmuse S1 is resistant to dust and splashing water — ideal for outdoor operations in moderately challenging weather. It operates within temperatures from –20 °C to +40 °C and can be safely stored between –20 °C and +60 °C.
Lightweight and Flexible Mounting Options
Weighing only 760 ± 10 g, the S1 adds minimal load to the drone. It supports various mounting configurations, including single downward, dual downward, and single upward gimbals, providing flexibility for different lighting requirements and mission setups.
Quick and Customizable Control
The Zenmuse S1 allows users to assign lighting functions (on/off, mode switch, brightness adjustment) to custom shortcut buttons on the remote controller for intuitive, in-flight operation. Through integration with DJI’s Mobile SDK, developers can create customized spotlight control applications tailored to specific mission needs.
